The mission of the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center is to inspire conservation of the marine environment through education, research and sustainable practices. Since our doors opened in 1986, we've been inspiring guests at the Virginia Aquarium through interactive, hands-on exhibits, programming and offsite, mission-based programs throughout southeast Virginia.
