Santa Barbara Botanic Garden

Incorporated in 1939, the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden is an educational and scientific institution, fostering stewardship of the natural world through inspired learning, rigorous scholarship, and premier displays. With an emphasis on plants native to California, the Garden advances the knowledge and understanding of plant life and provides a rewarding experience for visitors. The Garden's living collections, including more than 1,000 taxa of plants, are featured throughout 40 acres accessible by over 5.5 miles of public trails. Composed of over 140,000 specimens of plants, the herbarium represents the region's largest scientific collection of preserved central coast plants.
