Homes with Hope's mission is to be the recognized and respected community resource for individuals and families experiencing or at-risk of experiencing, homelessness by providing food, safe emergency shelter, supportive services, and housing as tools to achieve independent lives. The agency has grown considerably since first opening in 1984 as an organization providing food and shelter for homeless men in a retired Town of Westport firehouse. As the need began to increase the organization expanded the support services and housing options available to clients. Today, our programs and services include: a food pantry and soup kitchen, 2 emergency shelters: for single adults and young women aged 18 - 24, 47 units of permanent supportive housing for the chronically homeless, casework services, mentoring, youth education and the life skills training critical in helping to prevent homelessness from reoccurring.
