Bo's Place

Bo's Place exists to enhance the lives of those who have experienced the death of a loved one. It is Houston's premier grief support center, serving 6,000+ people annually through its Information & Referral Line, online and in-person grief support groups, and community training and education programs. Bo's Place was founded in 1990 as The Grief Center of Texas by Karen Pennebaker and Cis Dickson to provide ongoing grief support services for children and their families in Houston. In 1995, The Grief Center became Bo's Place, named in memory of Laurence "Bo" Bosworth Neuhaus, Jr., a Houstonian who died of liver cancer when he was12. Through its mission and programs, Bo's Place strives to reflect Bo's strength and resilience in the face of extraordinary adversity. Bo's Place offers its programs at no charge to bereaved families.
